Dark pool

A dark pool refers to a private trading exchange that is not easily accessible to investing public. Dark pools are created to facilitate large orders of investors whose market orders may have adverse price effects on assets.  Dark pools allow institutional investors to execute large trades discreetly, without revealing their intentions to the broader market. This helps prevent significant price fluctuations that might occur if such trades were made on public exchanges.
